Stroke of Midnight

Where were you last night at midnight? Would you have wanted to be somewhere else?

At the stroke of midnight New Year’s Eve I was in the bed fast asleep.

My church started a four day conference that evening. I’d worked all day and then attended the conference afterwards. By the time it ended I was exhausted and made my way home to get in bed to get rested for the next three days.

If I wasn’t attending the conference I’d be at home wrapped in a warm blanket eating and drinking goodies, watching television and playing Words with Friends on my iPad.

Sounds like a safe, relaxing way to end one year and bring in the new.

  1. On New years eve I was with my family. We weren’t at home, we were on holidays but we were all together and to me family is home. A very happy new year to you.

    • Miriam, happy, prosperous, blessed new year to you and yours. I would have enjoyed being with my family but they all live in other states. The weather is so unpredictable that it’s better to stay home than travel. Blessings.

  2. I choose to stay inside. For me it’s safer than being outside with the crowd that’s been drinking heavily. We really enjoy watching the ball drop in Times Square when it’s freezing cold, from the warmth of our home. So I begin the year the same as I end the old one, just being grateful to have a place to stay.
